How to travel from Split to the island of Korcula?

There are 4 ways to travel from Split to the island of Korcula: by ferry (for cars), by catamaran (speed line for passengers only), by car and by bus.


From Split there are lines to 2 ports on the island of Korcula: Korcula and Vela Luka. The only ferry line is Split - Vela Luka; other lines are speed catamaran lines for passengers only.


Traveling from Split to the island of Korcula by ferry

To travel from Split to the island of Korcula by ferry, you need to take a ferry from the harbour of Split to the port of Vela Luka, on the island of Korcula. The harbour is located in the city center, just in front of the Diocletian's palace and the old town of Split. Ferry line Split - Vela Luka is operated by Jadrolinija national agency. The journey is approx. 2h 30min up to 2h 45min. The tickets can be purchased online or at the Jadrolinija sale point in Split harbour, address: Gat Sv.Duje bb, Split. The tickets can be bought on your departure day, recommended at least 1 hour before the departure for passengers and few hours before if you travel by car.

Important to know: the ticket you have purchased (online or at the sale point) is valid for any voyage on the selected date, but does not guarantee boarding at a specific departure time. The boardings are based on arrival order. Usually there are no problems with passengers and you can board at any time you decide to travel, but if you travel by car, then it is highly recommended to arrive at the harbour and park your car in the queue for the island, few hours before the scheduled departure (early in the morning if you travel in high season, July and August, especially on weekends, Friday - Saturday - Sunday).

(speed line, passengers only)

To travel from Split to the island of Korcula, you need to take a catamaran (speed line) from the harbour of Split. The port is located in the city center, just in front of the Diocletian's palace and the old town of Split. The catamaran lines are operated by two agencies, Jadrolinija national agency and Krilo (Kapetan Luka jets). From Split there are catamaran lines to 2 ports on the island of Korcula: Vela Luka and Korcula (old town).

Traveling from Split to the island of Korcula by car

To travel from Split to the island of Korcula by car, first you need to travel by car from Split to the town of Orebic (located on the Peljesac peninsula).There are 2 ways to arrive at Orebic, via Magistrala (Adriatic road) or via A1 Highway (for most part of the journey); approx. 170 km is the distance between Split and Orebic, approx. 2 h 30 min driving. From Orebic you need to take the ferry to Domince, on the island of Korcula. The ferry line is operated by Jadrolinija agency.

Traveling from Split to the island of Korcula by bus

From the main bus station in Split you can also take a bus to the town of Korcula. There are only few departures a day and the ticket cost is about 17 EUR; travel time approx. 5h 30 min.
